Soil classification

The term 'Soil classification' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' Systematic arrangement of soils into classes of one or more categories or levels of classification for a specific objective. Broad groupings are made on the basis of general characteristics and subdivisions are made on the basis of more detailed differences in specific properties. See Unified Soil Classification System'.
